It’s not
every day that we see one of these! I can tell you that it sure caught
my eye as soon as it pulled in at our World Famous Cars and Coffee
Folsom on a recent Saturday.
Jeff
has had his 1969 AMX for over 25 years now; and lucky for us, he brings
it out to our World Famous Cars and Coffee Folsom occasionally for the
rest of us to enjoy. He is the second owner of this beauty, which has
always been a California car.
It’s
been over 20 years now since he and his dad restored the car
completely. Meaning it was fully restored from the bare metal up. They
lowered this AMX approximately 1.5 inches in both front and back. It
sits on bigger front brakes, which came off of an Ambassador, and has
Mark Donohue front end spoilers. The car is powered by a 450 HP, 390
(AMC bored 20 over), engine and is put through its paces with the help
of a 4 speed GoPak transmission. There are 31,000 original miles on the
car today. The Halo headlights are off of a 2007 Jeep.
Jeff
and his dad, Gabe, did the beautiful paint job that we see on the car
today. Jeff shows the car in various local car shows and events. Such a
treat to see a nice bit of Americana blast from the past. Thank you,
Jeff!
